I was in search of a cultured way of spending the evening in Dubai, and I’m so glad I added La Perle to my list. Located in Al Habtoor City, La Perle is a performative art show, and is Dubai’s only permanent show. Here is my guide of everything you need to know so you can enjoy the show!
Where to buy La Perle tickets
You can head over to the official website for tickets. There are different types of experiences you can bundle around the show, so this will affect the price. Check the website for deals as they change their deals often. For instance, you can book a staycation, where you get the ticket, dinner and a night’s stay at one of the Habtoor Group’s hotels. When I booked, I just got a normal ticket for the show, which included a free (soft) drink and popcorn.
There are different seating options as well, which will affect where you will sit, and subsequently, your view and experience. Below is an image of the seating plan. I chose a seat in the silver section, and opted to sit closer to the back, in the centre. This was so I could have a better view of the stage in its entirety. However, if you want a more immersive experience, sit right up front so you can feel some of the water splashes! The VIP tickets are the most expensive, followed by Gold, Silver, then Bronze.
La Perle is shown in Al Habtoor, which is a 5-star venue. So whilst you don’t need to wear a fancy gown and suit, you do want to look presentable. I did see some people in shorts and sneakers, but dressing up makes it more fun! I would go for a smart casual outfit that’s comfortable.
There is valet parking available, as well as self-parking. I took a taxi when I went, so I didn’t use either. However, there looked to be ample space when I looked around. Bear in mind though, you need to be in the venue 30 minutes before the show starts. So factor in time to find parking, and then walking into the venue. That’s assuming you go for the RTA parking. In Google maps, it currently shows that the La Perle Garage Parking is temporarily closed. Keep an eye out for this before you go as it might be open when you go.
Snacks and Dinner options
Depending on the ticket you buy, you snacks might be included. My ticket came with a soft drink and popcorn. However, you can top up and get chocolate or M&Ms if you like. Some of the other La Perle ticket options include dinner. On their website, you would book the “La Perle Dinner Package”. So you can have your dinner at one of the six signature restaurants at the Al Habtoor City. The menus are set, three-course meals. The restaurants you can choose from are Summer Place, Ribs & Brews, Babiole, Le Patio, Zoco and City Grill You can get up-to-date pricing here.
Finding your seat
Once you’ve had dinner, or grabbed your snacks, you can head into the theatre for the show. There are signs clearly indicating the sections. They also have ushers waiting to direct you to the correct seat. Because of social distancing, I had several seats between me and the next person.
Final Thoughts on La Perle
Don’t go to the show expecting Cirque Du Soleil tricks! La Perle is a great show with what I thought were moderate, but entertaining tricks. The storyline was a bit difficult for me to follow, but nonetheless, it was very entertaining. there were a lot of moments were I help my breathe during the tricks because they seemed really dangerous. The stage, costumes and effects were truly 5 star, and if you plan on going, you’ll be just as impressed!
